Hué Heritage Town

About two and a half hours north of Danang, the imperial city of Hué – and capital of the country’s last dynasty, the Nguyen – harbours several national treasures. On the north bank of the Perfume River, the Citadel spans across 520 hectares and is comprised of three circles of ramparts:  Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel), Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), and Tu Cam Thanh, the Forbidden Purple City which is surrounded by brick walls. Southeast of the Citadel, you will find seven royal tombs scattered on both banks of the Perfume River, each of which built according to Vietnamese principles of feng shui and designed by the deceased rulers.

Other remarkable sights include the An Hien Garden House, Originally the residence of the 18th daughter of Emperor Duc Duc, and the seven-storey Thien My Pagoda, Vietnam’s tallest pagoda built at the turn of the seventeenth century.

Hue’s imperial cuisine is rightfully regarded as one of the finest in Vietnam, both its taste and unique presentation.

مدينة هوي آن القديمة

Hoi An exudes many charms. Found about 30 kilometres away from the resort, Vietnam’s most atmospheric town is the ideal place to enjoy an insight into the rich history of the area. The architecture in Hoi An is a testament to the town’s cosmopolitan heritage, where traditional Vietnamese designs blend with influences from the French, Chinese and Japanese colonial eras. Beside the city’s allure, art galleries, superb dining experiences including chic restaurants, and boutiques are found in abundance while the surroundings of this ancient port city are dominated by beautiful beaches and rice paddies. Hoi An’s old quarter is best enjoyed in the evening, when the town’s winding lanes, temples and Chinese shop-houses are lantern-lit.

شبه جزيرة سون ترا

The Son Tra Peninsula is an area of outstanding beauty, a protected reserve that spans over 2,500 kilometres where you will find stunning spots for swimming, fishing and boating, including Bai Bac, Bai Nam and Bai But. Off the coast, diving enthusiasts will marvel at the brilliant scores of marine life and colourful corals. The mountainside of the Son Tra Peninsula is nothing short of amazing – explore its rich forested terrain and discover its varied flora and fauna, and visit the longest suspension cable bridge in Vietnam, the ThuanPhuoc Bridge, which the peninsula with Danang.

The huge Mui Nghe and the seventeen-storey Linh Ung pagoda are other remarkable sights to be found in and around the peninsula.

My Son Sanctuary – UNESCO World Heritage

Considered Vietnam’s most significant archaeological site and the spiritual centre of the 1,000-year-long Champa Kingdom, the My Son ruins are only one hour away from Hoi An. My Son once was the home of ancient temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, and its unique stone vestiges evoke architectural influences from Cambodia.

We suggest leaving early to avoid a throng of tourists. The journey through the countryside to My Son from Hoi An is wonderfully picturesque.

Golf has caught on in Vietnam in a significant way, and if you wish to tee off in style you will enjoy easy access to two internationally-acclaimed golf courses: Montgomerie Links and Danang Golf Club. Designed to capitalise on its superb location, tucked between the East Sea and Marble Mountains, the 18-hole Colin Montgomerie-designed Montgomerie Links is truly a must with all golfers. This challenging golf also features an undercover driving range, two restaurants, and of course spectacular views. Home to The Dunes course designed by the legendary Greg Norman, Danang Golf Club is a tribute to the first golf courses ever created, blending in beautifully amid spectacular surroundings and boasting views of the Cham Islands.
