Churros With Chocolate Dipping Sauce

If you’ve been craving a sweet treat at home, you’ll love this Churros with Chocolate Dipping Sauce DIY prepared by Top Chef Thailand Contestant, Chef Nok!

If you find that you can’t stop eating these sweet treats, don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Ingredients (Serves 6 people)

Churros:
  1. 200g Milk
  2. 200g Water
  3. 160g Butter
  4. 3g Salt
  5. 200g All-purpose Flour
  6. 4g Egg
Cinnamon Sugar:
  1. 300g Sugar
  2. 4g Cinnamon Powder
Chocolate Dipping Sauce:
  1. 200g Dark Chocolate
  2. 250g Whipping Cream

Method

  1. Begin by adding water, butter, and sugar to a large saucepan, over medium heat. Bring to a boil
  2. Add flour and salt. Stir with a wooden spoon until thickened. Approximately 30 seconds
  3. Using a mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time until combined
  4. Transfer mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  5. In a large pot over medium heat, add enough oil to come halfway up the sides and heat to 185c.
  6. Holding the piping bag a few inches above the oil, carefully pipe churros and use scissors to cut off the dough.
  7. Fry until golden (4 to 5 minutes) turning as necessary.
  8. Remove churros with a slotted spoon or tongs and immediately roll churros in cinnamon sugar and cool
  9. Pour hot whipping cream over dark chocolate and mix before serving churros with the dipping sauce
