Rooftop bars are an excellent way to escape the chaotic streets and enjoy the beautiful views of the cityscape below. Bangkok is home to many amazing rooftop venues, but some are both pricey and exclusive.

1.Ladprao Sky Bar by Baan Puu

Only a 15-minute walk from the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao is the Ladprao Sky Bar by Baan Puu. This rooftop bar has a cosy and casual atmosphere and boasts of a marvellous 360-degree view of the bustling urban area of Ladprao. The menu features a variety of authentic Thai dishes that come at reasonable prices. Sky Bar by Baan Puu also has acoustic live shows every night from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Mondays.

 

2. Dumbo Jazz & Vinyl Bar

If you’re a jazz lover, this is the place for you. Dumbo Jazz & Vinyl Bar presents daily live music after 3:00 p.m. Prior to that, DJs spin 50s, 60s, and 70s jazz tunes on vinyl records, which are available for collectors to purchase. Dumbo sits atop the Inn Office tower near Saphan Kwai intersection and has a fantastic view of the city. It’s open from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Monday to Saturday.

 

3. Peak-A-Boo

“Start your day with coffee. End your day with beer.” That’s Peak-A-Boo’s cheeky motto. This daytime café transforms into a rooftop bar at night. Sitting in the outdoor area, you will see the BTS Skytrain dashing by. Beers, bucket cocktails, and soju are all available along with Thai and fusion dishes. Peek-A-Boo is located on the 5th floor of Victory Mall near Victory Monument BTS Skytrain station. The café is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the bar is open from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

 

4. Ruuf 97

With a rooftop pool surrounded by two spacious seating areas filled with super comfy bean bags, Ruuf 97 is an ideal chill spot. They have live music performances, and they serve up delicious western delights and various tasty Thai dishes.

This popular venue often invites well-known artists to perform at events. You can also enjoy electronic dance music from the skilled DJs every night after the live performances.

Perched above the Paradise Sukhumvit Hotel on Ekkamai Soi 12, Ruuf 97 is very easy to get to, as it’s only a 200-metre walk from the Ekkamai BTS Skytrain station.

 

5. Cat on the Roof

Located in between Ari and Saphan Kwai, Cat on the Roof will make you feel like you’re sitting at a bar in New York City. Both the outdoor and indoor areas are designed in a rustic style and are illuminated by neon lights, making the atmosphere both comfortable and stimulating.

Craft beer is the main star here as there is a wide selection that includes rare offerings from Ballast Point. Draft beers and creative cocktails are also available. While you enjoy the live music, you can indulge in customised BBQ and Thai fusion snacks. Cat on the Roof is open from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on Monday to Thursday and 5:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Friday to Sunday.
