Human Rights

We fully recognise the value and dignity in being a human. As such, we have given importance to promoting and supporting the 3 keys: protect-respect and remedy of human rights of all involved stakeholders. Centara has determined that this positive moral standard is an integral part of the behavior of the organization, ensuring that the operating guidelines for the Company’s businesses and the manner in which employees act are respectful and dignified to all.

Diversity

We comply with related international laws and standards, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Principles of Humanity and Rights of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Centara does not accept any form of forced labor or child labor, discrimination in hiring or at the workplace regarding local or foreign workers, sexual discrimination, harassment or verbal or physical harassment, including any form of psychological abuse."

Occupational Health and Safety

We have established the Occupational Safety and Health, and Workplace Environment Policy as a practical guideline for employees, which is compliant with the ministerial regulation that establishes standards for occupational safety, health and workplace environment management.

Opportunities for All (Employee & Community)

We believe that giving people an opportunity is deemed as promoting inclusion and equality. We provided career support to disabled persons and to older workers.

Community Support

We are committed to creating stability and security for society as a whole. In order to develop careers and distribute income throughout local communications, we string to develop skills and competency of all employees that we interact with. Centara aims to create positive changes for society, which is beneficiary for our public service activities.

Starting in 2011, Centara Hotels & Resorts offered a programme called 4Cs: Centara Career Creation for Children to underprivileged students from Welfare Schools under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and to students with special needs, such as those with hearing and visual impairment. 4Cs has the sponsorship of the Office of the Basic Education Committee and the Department of Skill Development, which has granted partial financial support in terms of daily allowance, necessary equipment and training expenses. We provide a basic hospitality training programme, followed by functional training in which the student is rotated through two different areas during the five-month course, with a choice of the food and beverage, kitchen, housekeeping or gardening departments. Once qualified, the student is offered a position at a Centara property, and can then go on to enjoy a successful career with the company.
