Chef's Story

Chef Manoj Gunawardana

Chef Manoj believes that “Cooking is the best gift you can give to those you love”. His commitment to spreading morsels of goodness extends to everyone who dines at our scenic Reef Restaurant. His culinary path started from humble beginnings back in 2004 as a Trainee in Sri Lanka’s tropical haven, Amaya Lake Dambulla Resort. Under the guidance of his Executive Chef at the time, his zest to further enhancing his craft has come a long way.

Chef Manoj is responsible for training and directing a culinary team that delivers an array of sumptuous spreads from Reef’s daily rotation buffet. His style of cooking focuses on simplicity by using the best possible high-quality, seasonal ingredients. The exquisite flavor of each dish prepared by Chef Manoj demonstrates his advanced culinary expertise in both regional and international cuisine.
