UNO MAS has opened at Centara Grand at CentralWorld

UNO MAS, which sits 54 floors above Bangkok with stunning panoramic city views, incorporates the best of roof top, open air dining with air conditioning. UNO MAS has just opened at Centara Grand at CentralWorld offering city diners another outstanding destination in a spectacular setting with an inspired menu celebrating Spanish and Mediterranean cuisines, and an outstanding wine list.

Spanish for “one more,” UNO MAS is split into three unique zones, designed to take you on a journey through the vibrant Iberian Peninsula and the Mediterranean region. Moorish design elements and accessories connect the three venues through the electric colour palette, which has been inspired by the distinctive powder-blue accents that colour the town of Chefchaouen to the striking terracotta hued Moroccan walls.

Your journey begins as you get off the elevator on the 54th floor, the blue glazed floors are reminiscent of the Mediterranean sea, bamboo clad walls lead you directly to the stunning Wine Cellar, cosseting over 2,000 bottles that straddle both the Old and New Worlds. Wine aficionados may choose from 36 wines on offer by the glass or observe a wine angel fly through the eight-metre high wine tower to select your preferred bottle. A Flamenco guitarist and a DJ spinning Latin tunes provides an authentic ambience to accompany your favourite vintage.

Past the Wine Cellar is the semi-alfresco Tapas & Raw Bar with a huge display of the freshest oysters and other seafood from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic on the centre of the bar. Display cases feature carefully selected cheese and olives, pickled vegetables, fish, as well as award-winning hams and salamis. UNO MAS serves up delicious traditional and creative tapas such as ‘Gambas Pil Pil’, a clay pot of sizzling prawns in olive oil, cayenne chilies and garlic; ‘Golden Fried Chiperones’, tiny Spanish calamari battered and fried; bite-sized pieces of aged rib-eye; small plates of the paella of the day; fried and salted piquillo peppers; chorizo in cider, and much more.

The split level space of the Tapas & Raw Bar features a community table along with seating along the bar and more cosy seating by the ledge. The semi-alfresco Dining Deck offers the best of outdoor dining with a covered roof and cooling also more substantial meals from the show kitchen. Here chefs use special fire pits and the unique Josper oven to prepare their signature whole roast Spanish suckling pigs, lamb, and other grilled seafood. Another pit using orange wood infuses a distinctive flavour to the paellas, a traditional seafood and rice dish, and the similar Valencian fideuà, which substitutes pasta called fideus for rice.
