FAQs
Paragliding is most commonly done from Sarangkot, where you typically take off with a tandem pilot after a short briefing. Depending on wind and routing, many flights finish in the valley near Pame or around the lakeside zone close to Phewa Lake.
For a short, high-adrenaline experience, zip flying is also usually based around Sarangkot, where operators run long, steep zip lines designed for speed and dramatic valley views. This is typically arranged as a quick half-day outing including transfers from Pokhara.
Ultralight flights generally depart from the airfield area near Pokhara Airport (often referred to locally as the old airport zone for ultralight operations). After a safety briefing, flights follow scenic routes over lakes and foothills, with the best mountain views depending heavily on weather and visibility.
For short-to-moderate trekking with classic Himalayan scenery, many travelers choose the Ghorepani–Poon Hill area, which is known for sunrise viewpoints and rhododendron forests. Routes often begin with a drive to Nayapul and continue through villages such as Ghorepani, with sunrise commonly viewed from Poon Hill. Many itineraries also include Ghandruk for culture, architecture, and mountain panoramas, and much of this sits within the protected Annapurna Conservation Area. If you prefer a shorter hike closer to the resort, you can explore the Kaskikot area. A scenic walk of about 2 hours takes you to Kaskikot Durbar, offering peaceful trails, village views, and panoramic views of the Annapurna Range.
Slower-paced immersion usually means guided cultural walks, village visits, and nature-led experiences that focus on everyday life and scenery rather than speed or altitude. In and around Pokhara, you can explore local neighborhoods, markets, and viewpoints at a relaxed pace, or visit community and heritage sites such as the Tibetan Refugee Camp Pokhara, where visitors often combine monastery visits with local crafts and cultural context.
Cycling tours are typically arranged as guided half-day rides that combine countryside roads with gentle off-road sections, depending on your comfort level. A common experience is riding through farmland and village lanes around Sarangkot Loop trail as it offers scenery, local life, and flexible distance options.
